The hotel re-opened in 1998 after a complete renovation. The facade was completely refashioned with the two story windows that are surrounded by neutral-toned limestone and augmented by a stainless steel canopy reminiscent of a theater marquee.\n##Lobby\nGuest entering the hotel lobby encounter a two story interior space consisting of white coral walls and a patterned floor of ceramic tile with black granite inlays. Above a custom-designed chrome and glass topped table hangs a chandelier, a companion to the original that is part of the permanent collection at museum of Modern Art. The sofas and chairs are part of the permanent collection were designed by Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld in 1935.
