The hotel is set in a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian townhouse, with its own rich history, in the market town of Harpenden. It was previously used as a school for young ladies and was subsequently both a private house and a convent for the Dominican Sisters. Operating as a hotel since 1970, it retains many original period features, such as the large 18th century fireplace in the lounge. Renovated in 2008, it now comprises a total of 76 accommodation units. The majority of bedrooms and meeting rooms are situated adjacent to the main building, in the garden courtyard and Hertfordshire wing.
