Amparo

The Amparo is a small family run guest house, located in the centre of Machico, 2 kms from the International Airport of Funchal. Decorated by the highly acclaimed international interior decorator, Nini Andrade, the Amparo is a home away from home, ideal for guests seeking comfort, warmth, and a little bit of Madeira. Its close proximity to the airport, as well as to local attractions such as the sandy beach, churches/chapels, museums, and levadas is but a few of the many activities available to our guests.

The Amparo comprises of 12 double/twin rooms, all with private bathrooms and modern amenities such as flat screen TVandacute;s, Cable andamp; WiFi.

The reception has WiFi and comprises of a small business centre for guests wishing to consult the net.

Restaurant:

The restaurant, located on the ground floor, is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is both traditional and international in cuisine, with the "Fillet Amparo" and the "Scabbard Fish Fillet with Banana "a firm favorite.

The andldquo;Traditional Meat on the Spitandrdquo; served with the famous andldquo;Bolo do Cacoandrdquo; with garlic butter is a must, as is the andldquo;Chicken Breast a Amparoandrdquo;.andnbsp; Special requests are also very much welcomed, be it vegetarian dishes or special childrenandacute;s menus.

The esplanade, along side the restaurant, is quaint, allowing our guests to enjoy their meals al fresco or simply savor their andldquo;ponchaandrdquo; (our very special Madeirian cocktail).
